MODERN

Breanna's Academy of Dance Modern

Modern dance is a combination of two styles, Lyrical and Contemporary. In our modern lessons, we explore storytelling and expression through movement. Lyrical dance emphasizes smooth, flowing movements that seamlessly transition from one to the next. Within lyrical dance, it also requires a strong technical foundation. Dancers work on their control, balance and flexibility to execute the more technical movements.

Now Contemporary dance is very unique and versatile and allows for more creative exploration and experimentation. Contemporary dance emphasizes the body’s natural movement capabilities by exploring weight, momentum and spatial awareness. It involves floor work, partnering and intricate movements to convey a deep idea or message. Both styles offer dancers a platform for creative expression and we incorporate them both into our Modern lessons.

BALLET

Breanna's Academy of Dance Ballet
